We are seeking a Finance Director to lead the financial operations across our group. In this senior leadership position, you’ll combine strategic oversight with hands-on execution, ensuring robust controls, transparent reporting, and forward-looking insights that inform business decisions.  

 

You will play a key role in guiding the company through growth, enhancing financial infrastructure, and ensuring all year-end and statutory requirements are met efficiently across all entities. 

 

You’ll collaborate closely with our Finance Manager, who handles day-to-day bookkeeping, invoicing, and payments, providing strategic direction while ensuring smooth operational finance. 

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities  

  • Oversee financial operations across multiple companies within the group. 

  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory submissions. 

  • Partner with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate, timely financial data and reporting. 

  • Manage relationships with auditors and external advisors. 

  • Ensure full compliance with financial, tax, and regulatory obligations. 

  • Work alongside the Board and leadership team on growth strategies, forecasting, and scenario planning. 

  • Develop and maintain budgets, cashflow forecasts, and long-term financial plans. 

  • Provide clear financial insights to support investment, recruitment, and expansion decisions. 

  • Evaluate growth assumptions and highlight risks and opportunities. 

  • Strengthen financial governance, reporting accuracy, and internal controls as the business scales. 

  • Enhance systems, processes, and tools to improve visibility and support growth. 

  • Oversee cash management, working capital, and liquidity planning. 

  • Standardize financial processes across all group entities. 

  • Serve as a senior finance leader, bringing structure, clarity, and calm to the group. 

  • Support and develop the Finance Team, providing guidance and mentorship. 

  • Translate complex financial information into actionable commercial insights for non-finance colleagues. 

 

Skills and Experience  

  • Proven experience in senior finance roles (Head of Finance, Finance Director, or equivalent). 

  • Experience managing multiple entities within a group structure. 

  • Strong background in statutory accounts, year-end reporting, and compliance. 

  • A commercial mindset, with experience supporting high-growth businesses. 

  • Confidence in building forecasts, budgets, and financial models to drive scale. 

  • A hands-on, detail-oriented approach, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with the CEO, senior leaders, and finance teams. 

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA). 

  • 5+ years in senior finance roles (FD, Head of Finance, Finance Controller) within scaling businesses. 

  • UK statutory and tax experience (Companies House, HMRC, corporation tax, VAT, PAYE). 

  • Proven track record of developing finance functions, including systems, controls, and reporting. 

  • Experience in iGaming, Gambling, SaaS, or multi-entity groups preferable 

  • Exposure to private equity or investor reporting, even at a light-touch level preferable
